Here’s wishing Ferris Bueller a Happy Birthday! The 1986 comedy film written and directed by John Hughes turns 23 today. The storyline follows a day in the life of Ferris Bueller, a high school senior who cuts class to spend a beautiful spring day in Chicago’s downtown. With the help of his best friend Cameron Frye and his girlfriend Sloane Peterson, he masterfully evades the school’s dean of students, his parents and other would be persecutors. Hilarity ensues.
Ferris Bueller made the news last month when Cameron Frye’s house, featured in the film, went on the market for $2.3 million dollars. If you want to wax nostalgic and see photos of the house, Newsday has a slideshow.
Happy Birthday, Ferris Bueller! You’ll be in our hearts.
